Iraq vindication

From the Revd Mike Haslam

Sir, — The revelation made by Tony Blair that regime change was a sufficient motivation for war in Iraq, whether or not there were weapons of mass destruction, is yet more proof, if any were needed, that the Stop the War campaign was correct to campaign. How could a war founded upon the depravity of a dictator and the deceptions and distortions of democrats ever be just or lead to peace? The current tragic state of Iraq was all too predictable.

Despite the fact that we did not stop this unjust war, it was right to stand for justice and peace; and Mr Blair’s comments have once again illustrated this fact.
