THE SYNOD gave final approval to the Draft Vacancies in Suffragan Sees and Other Ecclesiastical Offices Measure, moved by the Archdeacon of Westmorland and Furness, the Ven. George Howe (Carlisle). It was carried: Bishops 19 for, 0 against; Clergy 115 for, 0 against, with 1 recorded abstention; Laity 125 for, 2 against.
