Sir, — The memories of the "synodical veterans" who could not remember the
Prayer Book rite being used at a Synod inauguration since 1970 (
News, 18 November) have let them down. For the record, it was used in 1990.
Over the intervening years, a range of rites has been used (1975: Series 2;
1980: Rite A; 1985: ASB Rite B; 1990: BCP; 1995: Rite A; 2000: Common Worship
Order One).
