. . . and for craft materials for prisoners

02 November 2006

Sir, — May I say a huge thank you to Church Times readers for the amazing response I received after my article about women prisoners here at Brockhill (Comment, 4 March). We have been amazed, moved, and humbled by the generosity of readers who have sent us cheques and craft materials to help keep the women active for
the hours when they are in their cells.

A special thank you is owing to Mrs White in Scotland, who contacted the company that has been supplying her with craft materials over the years. We have now received a huge stock of canvases and materials from Frank Stone in Kidderminster that will keep our stocks viable for months to come.

Many thanks for both the gifts and the solidarity. It means a great deal to know people care.
