BEING a church school,
Yattendon Primary in
Oxford
diocese wanted to state the fact more
clearly.
The school is closely linked to
the Parish Church of St Peter and
St Paul;
so, since the double doors at the entrance each had a window, a saint in each
was the answer.
An artist, Sarah Moorcroft, was
called in to work with the children on Perspex panels, and every child had his
or her own piece of Perspex to colour, says the Team Vicar, the Revd Tony Lynn.

St Peter stands on one side,
and St Paul
on the other, and the lower panels show their
symbols of keys, ball and chain, and a sword.
When it was completed, to
everyone’s delight, the new Bishop of Reading, the Rt Revd Stephen Cottrell,
was able to come to Yattendon village on the feast day of St Peter and
St Paul
to dedicate the windows, and to meet and pray with the
children.
