Obituary: PROFESSOR SUZANNE MARTINEAU

The Bishop of Guildford writes:
PROFESSOR Suzanne Martineau, who died on 20 October, aged 94, was the grande dame of French ecumenism. Although Suzanne was involved with the World Council of Churches, with French Protestants (especially through the Groupe des Dombes Catholic-Reformed discus­sions), for which her family's Huguenot background prepared her, and with Orthodoxy, her great love and expertise was in Anglican-Roman Catholic relations.
