My fears for Wormingford

From Dr John Newbery
Sir, — "Off to Houds Farm for the PCC. . . We elect each other en bloc. . ." ( Word from Wormingford, 6 August ).

Do we, indeed? Whatever happened to their statutory Annual Church Meeting, the one in two halves? The first is the vestry meeting to elect the churchwardens; the second to elect the PCC and other officers by vote of all the parishioners present. I am very much afraid that the Wormingford PCC meeting sounds completely illegal. Perhaps the sooner they get a new vicar, the better.
