Ships laid up on the River Fal in Cornwall. The Mission to Seafarers (MSF) warns that seafarers now face increased problems, as economic pressures mean that ships are laid up far from home. Canon Ken Peters, the Mission’s director of justice and welfare, says that laid-up crews “suffer acute isolation, low morale, and anxiety about their jobs”
