Sir, — Two weeks ago, I was delighted to read that an initiative in Bristol diocese has resulted in an online petition regarding church buildings and their great cost, on the Downing Street website.

The cathedral staff meeting immediately agreed that this is very important. Encouragement to our congregation in written and oral notices has now followed.
