Radio: People’s manifesto

I WRITE this on another dreary Monday morning; one in a suc­cession of dreary mornings in a seemingly endless winter. How much better it would be if — as in days of yore — we could arbitrarily declare a Saint’s day, pull the duvet back over our head, and go back to sleep.
