Woman bishop for NSW

A WOMAN trained at Moore Theo­logical College, Sydney, and ordained deacon in that diocese is to become the third woman bishop in Australia and the first in New South Wales (NSW).

The Ven. Genieve Blackwell, the Rector of Yass, in the diocese of Can­berra & Goulburn, will be consecrated in March to be an assistant bishop in that diocese. The presiding bishop will be the Bishop of Newcastle, NSW, the Rt Revd Brian Farran, rather than the Metropolitan of NSW, Dr Peter ...
