BUTLER-SMITH. - On 16 October, the Revd Basil George Butler-Smith: Rector of Norton (1971-74); Curate-in-Charge of Tostock (1971-74); Rector of Rotherfield Peppard (1976-2002); Priest-in-Charge of Rotherfield Greys (1979-80); Rector (1980-2002); aged 83.

CARTER. - On 13 October, the Revd Dudley Herbert Carter: Chaplain of the Commonwealth and Continental Church Society (1956); Field Secretary of the Commonwealth and Continental Church Society Northern Area (1957-60); Rector of Tollard Royal with Farnham (1960-64); Chaplain of Colston's School, Bristol (1965-67); Assistant Master of Dr Morgan's Grammar School, Bridgwater (1967-73); Haygrove Comprehensive School, Bridgwater (1973-90); aged 88.

DEEDES. - On 15 October, the Revd Arthur Colin Bouverie Deedes: Assistant Curate of Worplesdon in Charge of St Alban's (1958-60); Vicar of All Saints', Weston (1960-66); Fleet (1966-73); Rural Dean of Aldershot (1969-73); Rector of Bournemouth (1973-80); Rural Dean (1974-80); Hon. Canon of Winchester Cathedral (1978-92); Master of St Cross Hospital and Minister of St Faith's, Winchester (1980-92); aged 86.

LANE. - On 29 September, the Revd Christopher George Lane: Priest-in-Charge of Barton (1990-95); aged 65.

WILSON. - On 5 October, the Ven. Mark John Crichton Wilson: Chaplain of Epsom College (1977-81); Vicar of Christ Church, Epsom Common (1981-96); Rural Dean of Epsom (1987-1992); Archdeacon of Dorking (1996- 2005); Hon. Canon of Guildford Cathedral (1996-2009); Warden of the Community of St Peter, Woking (2003-2007); aged 67.
