THIS was the 30th year that the parishioners of St Mary's in Wimbledovillage (London) have fed some 5000 of the tennis fans queuinround the church and up the hill from the All England Club.
About 100 people were involved in running the church's picnic stallorganised by Christine Douse. Among them were Shara Leonard, John Sweet, JennMichalacopoulos, and Honor MacDonald Watson (left). The visitormunched their way through 11 kilos of smoked salmon, 300 eggs, 580 sausages288 muffins, 50 kilos of bananas, 600 slices of ham, 128 pints of milk, an2500 teaspoonsful of sugar - which included as many fairtrade products apossible.
In the course of the two weeks, the stall raised almost 6000 to be dividebetween St Mary's, Merton Crossroads (a local "caring for carers" service), thSamaritans, and an orphanage in Indi
