Hello Guest,
Church Times, 18 May 2012There are several candidates for the title ‘the Church’s hidden asset’. Retreat houses tend to fall into that category, and this week we feature the remaining diocesan retreat houses, for those readers who are organised enough to book up things now for the autumn. Aside from that, it was a strong news week, with an announcement by George Osborne about VAT on church alterations after intense lobbying from the church (including Sophie here, who wants to be married in Wakefield Cathedral if it’s still standing by then). There’s more on gay marriage, in the US and in the UK; and we went to see the Dalai Lama at St Paul’s (but weren’t given a scarf). Subscribe today to read all of this and more. |
