London school’s post
by Margaret Holness
THE diocese of London’s new Director of Education is to be the Revd Dr Howard Worsley. Dr Worsley, a former director of studies at St John’s College, Nottingham, has been Director of Education in Southwell & Nottingham for the past five years. With the high media and political profile of church schools, the London post has become increasingly influential. The dioceses of London and Southwark run 250 of the capital’s schools, and they “showcase” church schools to politicians and journalists. Dr Worsley and the Director of Education for Southwark, Barbara Lane, plan closer collaboration on schools strategy. |
