He was expected to undergo surgery on Wednesday. A spokesman said that the Dean did not want visitors or phone calls “at this stage”, but good wishes could be left with the Cathedral Office on 01284 754933. Creation theme for Education Sunday THE THEME for Education Sunday, on 8 February next year, will be “God’s world is a gift on trust”, the nature conservation group A Rocha UK announced in a briefing note to churches. The national director of the group, the Revd Dave Bookless, said: “Education needs to see the world as a gift on trust; a family heirloom to treasure, enjoy, and pass on intact.” New director for Christian Socialists DR ANDY Flannagan has been appointed the new director of the Christian Socialist Movement (CSM). Originally from Northern Ireland, he trained as a medical doctor before joining Youth for Christ. He is now CSM’s media and publications officer, and works as a freelance. He takes over from the current director, Andrew Bradstock, in January. |
