Joel Edwards to leave the EA

06/03/2008

Joel Edwards, General Director of the Evangelical Alliance, has announced that he is to resign from the organisation. He has worked for the EA for 20 years, over ten of them as its General Director. You can read the press release on the EA site here. He will continue in his role as a commissioner to the Equality and Human Rights Commission, an appointment that was criticised by some secular campaigners last year.

Joel is about to undertake a tour setting out his 'new vision for evangelicalism'. The book of the tour, 'An Agenda for Change' is published this month - we reported on it in the paper a few weeks ago. There is a website which tells you about the various tour venues.

[Technical note: I'm aware that this post should appear above the 'Archbishops on blogging' one as this one was posted later. Apologies for the fact that it doesn't and any confusion caused. There are still a few minor technical issues we're working out, and this is the result of one of them.]
