Joyful noise: the American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys, winner of 14 Grammy awards, performed at a free event for 1000 fans at Manchester Cathedral on Monday night of last week. "MTV Crashes Manchester" was organised with Manchester City Council, which has defended spending £425,000 on the concert.
