UN reprieve for Gaza hospital

THE United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has agreed to extend its contract with the Anglican Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza for six months, to give the latter time to set up new financing arrangements. UNRWA's previous decision to end the contract in June left the hospital with the prospect of losing nearly half its approximately £1.3-million annual funding ( News, 22 June).
