of the Red Sea escape
Of all God's miracles of salvation,
their escape from Egypt was the most significant for the
Israelites. The Passover is still the great event of the Jewish
liturgical year, and Christians, too, rejoice in it. They see it as
a forerunner of the passing over of Jesus in his crucifixion and
resurrection.
The culmination of that great escape
from the enemy was the extraordinary passage through the Red Sea.
