Archbishop pays tribute to Armenian Patriarch

THE Archbishop of Canterbury paid tribute last week to the 96th
Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, Patriarch Torkom Manoogian, who
died earlier this month, aged 93. In a message to the Armenian
Orthodox community in Jerusalem, Dr Williams said that Patriarch
Manoogian had "represented all the most impressive aspects of the
Armenian character". He would be "remembered . . . by countless
pilgrims to Jerusalem for his warm welcome and wise counsel during
his long years as Patriarch of this ...
