GRUBBING around in mud, looking for broken bits of pottery and
the odd few chunks of stone, holds an extraordinary fascination
that must owe much to the TV programme Time Team, and the
enthusiasm of Tony Robinson. No fewer than 200 people volunteered
to take part in this year's archaeological dig at Polesworth Abbey,
to the north-east of Birmingham.
