JOHN DICKSON's Jesus, a Short Life: The historical evidence (Lion £6.99 (£6.30); 978-0-7459-5578-0) is an important little book for the non-specialist reader, easy to read and well explained. From a strictly historical viewpoint, it succinctly reviews the evidence for Jesus, and shows how well founded is the standard Christian historical picture.
