NZ cathedral in court

THE owners of Christ Church Cathedral, in New Zealand, were acting within their powers when they decided to demolish the earthquake-damaged building, a court has heard.

The demolition of the cathedral is being contested by a group that is campaigning to save and restore what is left of the building. The Great Christchurch Building Trust says that the building can be saved, and that its owners have a moral and legal responsibility to do so.
