Revenue to rectify tax code error

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has mistakenly sent out thousands of incorrect tax codes to stipendiary clergy, which could have resulted in demands to pay more tax.

At the end of last month, staff in the Clergy Team of the Payroll Services department at the Church Commissioners spotted an error in the tax codes for stipendiary clergy issued by HMRC.
