Church relies on most generous ten per cent

HALF the Church of England’s income now comes directly from giving, says a report, Giving for Life, to be put before General Synod in July. The amount given has risen steadily over past decades, and now stands at £600 million.
But the report contrasts the “sacrificial” giving of ten per cent of congregation members with the “worryingly slow” progress that most are making towards the five per cent of income target recommended by the General Synod. ...
