Millions in Yemen face food and water crisis

POLITICAL unrest and fears of terrorism in the Yemen are obscuring the country's worsening humanitarian crisis, leaving millions of families on the brink of despair, observers say.

Prices of staple food such as rice are reported to have gone up by 60 per cent this year alone. More than half Yemen's 24 million people lack enough food. Thousands of children are acutely malnourished.
