Israel and the UN

Sir, — Mr Dan Shaham ( Letters, 10 September) maintains that terrorism is the greatest barrier between Israelis and Palestinians. The fundamental barrier to peace in the Holy Land, however, is Israel’s refusal to comply with international law, whether it be UN Security Council and UN General Assembly resolutions, the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the 4th Geneva Convention, or the recent ruling by the International Court of Justice on the illegality of the separation barrier.
