ISSUE 7000 of the Church Times was the first one also published simultaneously on the worldwide web. That simple website, with only six of the printed news stories each week displayed on a parchment-coloured background, lasted for more than three years. It was for a while the most significant Anglican news source on the internet. (The current Anglicans Online News Centre started in 1998.)
