Sir, — In your main article on the 1947 wedding of Princess Elizabeth to Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (Features, 24 August), I noticed that the Dean of Westminster who “aided” Dr Geoffrey Fisher in the conduct of the service is named as “the Very Revd Dr Wesley Carr”.

Can this possibly be the same Dr Carr who resigned as Dean of Westminster only last year? If so, this must shurely be shome kind of record for length of ...
