Weddings: Hexham Abbey can meet the demand

Sir, — It was with some degree of surprise that I learnt that the General Synod was informed last week by a former Assistant Curate at Hexham, the Revd Paul Benfield, that we are overrun with weddings. He kindly feared for my health and well-being if the new Marriage Measure were passed, opening the floodgates to even more weddings here.

Sadly, I think that Mr Benfield is somewhat over-optimistic about numbers. I would delight in more ...
