Clerics alerted to hoax email

CLERGY are being advised to ignore an email purporting to be from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) offering them a tax refund.

The consultancy group Tax Management for the Clergy say that clerics have been targeted by the hoax email. The message asks them to click on a web link, which, it says, will take them to the HMRC website, where individuals are requested to log in.

The email states that the recipient is eligible to receive a tax refund of £188.50. ...
