If you would like to take a year out before starting university, or feel that your career needs a change of direction, many Christian organisations now offer short-term opportunities to people of all ages. Rebecca Paveley looks at what is on offer, at home and abroad

Adventure Plus

On offer: A UK-based, year-long leadership course in outdoor adventure and education, it trains people to coach activities such as kayaking, power boating, and fencing. It also offers Christian discipleship and leadership training.
