With reference to John Lane’s Devon’s Churches (Books, 29 February), it was wrongly said that St Andrew’s, Buckland Monachorum, contained monuments to two English seamen. In fact, Lord Heathfield was a soldier; and the Sir Francis Drake commemorated was not the great Elizabethan.
