| OECD counters migrant claims
THE ORGANISATION for Economic Co-operation and Development has countered a call for a migration cap led by the former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey, and claims that the number of migrants is slowing. The group, which includes the UK, United States, France, and Italy, says in a new report that the current economic downturn will slow the rate of migration, and claimed that 20 to 50 per cent of all migrants leave their host-country within five years.
Online launch of Burma campaign
CHRISTIAN Solidarity Worldwide this week launched an online campaign, Change for Burma!, one year after the largest pro-democracy protests in the country for 20 years. The campaign wishes to raise awareness of the country’s continuing human rights’ violations.

Diocese of Fort Worth to realign
THE EPISCOPAL diocese of Fort Worth, in the United States, has backed recommendations by its Bishop, the Rt Revd Jack Iker, to place itself under the oversight of the Anglican Province of the Southern Cone. The diocese’s executive council passed a resolution calling for the realignment “on a temporary, pastoral basis, until such time as an orthodox province of the Anglican Communion can be established in North America.”
Evangelical and Jewish groups clash
THE WORLD Evangelical Alliance has been criticised by the Jewish Anti-Defamation League for issuing a statement that urges members to continue evangelising Jews. The document denounces anti-Semitism, but the Jewish group claims it is a “prescription for hate”.
