A laser scan of St Botolph’s at Ruxley, Bromley, in Kent. Laser-imaging provided architects with a 3D picture to identify places for repair so as to stabilise the building, parts of which were in danger of collapse. It is hoped that the building can be reopened after further restoration, and it was removed from the At Risk register earlier this year. The Grade-II listed 14th-century church has not been used for worship since the reign of Mary I. Known as Ruxley Old Church, it was used as a barn in the 17th-century, with an oast house attached later. English Heritage gave a grant of £28,000.
