Sir, — It will be interesting to know whether Canon Jim Rosenthal’s experience (Glyn Paflin’s Diary, 20 November) is shared by others.

From my own experience and previous practice when an urban-community/parish priest, I endorse Mr Paflin’s suggestion that clergy more frequently wear cassocks in the street. The public witness and “rumour of God” ...
