A CHRISTIAN Christmas is still popular, a survey suggests. A Lancashire authority, however, is discouraging carol-singers from knocking on doors because they might make residents nervous.

The survey, published last month by Theos, a public-theology think tank, is based on a poll by ComRes which found that 840 out of the 1000 people polled disagreed with the statement: “Christmas should be re-named to reflect our multi-cultural society.” Eighty-five per cent agreed that “Christmas ...
