Muslim survey

THREE PER CENT of British Muslim women who replied to a survey carried out by Sisters’ Magazine and Ummah Foods said that Islam was part of their cultural identity. But 80 per cent said that Islam was their guide, both outwardly and inwardly, and 15 per cent that it was their personal belief system. Half the women polled said that they understood the term “hijab” to mean dressing modestly, and 19 per cent that it meant covering themselves completely; while 48 per cent said that good Muslim men were hard to find for marriage.
