The Archbishop of Canterbury described his private meeting with Pope Benedict on Monday at the Vatican as “friendly and informal”. Dr Williams said that they discussed a number of ecumenical issues, including Christian-Muslim dialogue. Dr Williams is in Rome to convene the seventh annual Building Bridges meeting of Christian and Muslim scholars, and to attend the installation of the Revd David Richardson as Director of the Anglican Centre in Rome and Archbishop’s Representative to the Holy See
