It is an introduction to the language of the city of Ugarit, which flourished in the second millennium BC on the Lebanese coast. It is a book for beginners, placing Ugaritic in the context of the ancient Semitic culture, literature, and religion; and is a resource for understanding the Old Testament and the Hebrew language.
