The magic of Narnia to return

| THE big-screen adaptation of C. S. Lewis’s Prince Caspian will arrive in British cinemas in June, it was announced last week. The first film in the Chronicles of Narnia series, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, was released in 2005 and was a huge box-office success. It was welcomed by many UK churches, who used the film as an opportunity for evangelising. The film grossed $744.7 million worldwide, and won a number of awards, including an Oscar for its make-up artists. The second film in the series will star the same four British actors who played the Pevensie children in the first film. Andrew Adamson is once again the director. Prince Caspian will be played by Ben Barnes, a 26-year-old British actor whose previous work includes The History Boys at the National Theatre, and a part in the film Stardust. Prince Caspian will be released in the UK on 26 June. |
