Avoiding the dangers of debt

| The Church of England has launched new resources to help us resist the many opportunities to overspend that come our way. The 'Matter of Life and Debt' website now has an 'interactive resource' (technical name for an Excel spreadsheet) which can help when planning a household spending budget, along with prayers, money saving tips, and homegroup and sermon resources. The same site has a post-Christmas debt check that avid readers of CofE press releases will know was announced back in January.
Some of today's newspapers picked up on another Church of England announcement, one from the end of February about the Growing Together course aimed at church leaders planning marriage preparation sessions. The Telegraph gave a good overview of the contents of the course and the thinking behind it. The Sun on the other hand summarised it as follows: "Officials at the Church of England have written a saucy good sex guide for their parishioners." [Cartoon partially inspired by Seth Godin] |
