| Sir Timothy Hoare, a member of the Church Assembly, and then of the General Synod, from 1960 to 2000, has died at the age of 73. He had been diagnosed with prostate cancer 12 years ago. Sir Timothy served on many church commissions and committees, including, in the 1980s, one on clergy conditions. He also co-founded the youth ministry Pathfinders, and was involved in the work of CPAS, SAMS, ICCS, Workd Vision UK, and A Rocha UK, among other organisations. He cited as his recreation in Who's Who "the work of God in nature, and of man in art". Obituary to follow. |
