Ely ruling
A TRIBUNAL has recommended to the Bishop of Ely, Dr Anthony Russell, that there cannot be a resolution to “serious pastoral breakdown” in the parish of Trumpington, in Ely diocese, while the Vicar, the Revd Dr Tom Ambrose, remains in post. At a tribunal in London in September, the PCC sought Dr Ambrose’s removal from office on the grounds of pastoral breakdown, and that he was a liar and a bully. Dr Ambrose rejected those charges and disputed that there was pastoral breakdown (News, 7 and 14 September). A report has been handed to their legal representatives. Dr Russell asks for representations to be submitted to the registrar within 21 days. |
