Sir, — I could scarcely believe the report (News, 18 June) to the effect that Lambeth Palace had asked the Presiding Bishop in the United States, Dr Katharine Jefferts Schori, not to wear her mitre when she visited Southwark Cathedral. Leaving aside the huge discourtesy of this request, was there any theology behind it? Was she also asked not to wear her pectoral cross ...
