Simon Parke: No teasing — beware of the kung-fu nuns

LET me take you away from here to a nunnery in the hills outside Kathmandu. There is something happening on the roof, and it looks suspiciously like kung fu.

Kung fu was made famous by the Bruce Lee films, but it lives on today in the Amitabha Drukpa nunnery, in Nepal. Here, the same fighting moves are enacted daily on the roof of the nunnery, before the nuns retire for meditation. The martial art was introduced two years ago, and the nuns practise for up to two hours a day. ...
