Obituary: THE REVD PROFESSOR JAMES ATKINSON

The Archdeacon of Pontefract, the Ven. Peter Townley, writes:

CANON James Atkinson, Emeritus Professor of Biblical Studies in the University of Sheffield, died peacefully on 30 July, the same week as his great friend John Stott, aged 97. Since last November, Atkinson had been living with his daughter in Chicago.
