Windsors’ wedding service for sale

THE day when an ordinary north- country parish priest blessed the marriage of the Duke of Windsor will be recalled later this month, when a signed order of service is ex­pected to sell for up to £12,000.

The memento was presented by the Duke and Duchess of Windsor to the Revd R. Anderson Jardine, who, in the aftermath of the 1936 abdication crisis, seemed to be the only Anglican cleric prepared to solemnise their marriage.
